ALL COMMUNAL AREAS

Whilst we are responsible for cleaning the lodge, guests are also responsible for cleaning up after themselves in the shared areas of the lodge. For example, this means that if you use the kitchen you are responsible for washing up and putting away the things you use. You are also responsible for cleaning the dining tables after your meal.

Smoking is strictly prohibited in all indoor areasIndoor smoking may result in termination of accommodation.

Dinning and Lounge Room

The dinning and lounge room is a large communal room, that you are welcome to use at your own leisure. It features a bar counter, several tables, a small library, adults and childrens games, along with an ethanol fire surrounded by comfy couches.

Kitchen

As we are a self-catered lodge you are encouraged to use the kitchen, but please remember that the other guests will need to use it too, so try to minimise space usage and remember to tidy up when you're done. If you don't feel like cooking, the other option is eating out, there are several resteraunts located in Akakura Onsen. We do not cook for guests.

You will be allocated pantry and fridge space. It is expected that you do not overflow into another guests fridge and pantry space, and that you do not take from other peoples supplies.

The Basement

The basement features bathrooms, laundry facilities, the waxing, ski, and drying rooms. Along with the Genkan, the Basment is the only place you can wear ski and snowboard boots, and any outside shoes. You are welcome to use these as necessary, but remember that other guests need them too (don't hog the washing and drying machines, or leave your stuff in too long after a cycle has finished). We expect that you treat these facilities as your own, and if there are any defects or damage, please notify a staff member, so we can sort out any issues.

Ski Room

The ski room is where you can store your skis, boards, poles, or anything else that you might use on the hill. Most people bring one or two pairs of skis or boards, but there is plenty of room for a few more, if you really need them.

Drying Room

The  drying room is located just off the ski room. Kept nice and warm you're more than welcome to keep your helmets, boots, gloves and outerwear down here to dry overnight. Again, there is plenty of room here, and you are welcome to store more than one pair.

Waxing Room

Also in the basement, the waxing room is an old bathroom we've converted so that you have somewhere you can wax and edge your skis and boards. Fitted with a table and iron this is the perfect place to wax up. We don't provide wax, so you'll need bring your own. Please remember to tidy up after you finish.

Bathrooms

We have 2 full bathrooms upstairs, along with 3 communal toilets in the basement. Our staff clean them, but we ask that you keep them tidy while you are using them. Anyone staying with us is welcome to use the showers and toilets.

Internet

We provide high speed internet, but this is provided on an 'as is' basis. We can't control how fast or slow the internet may be, nor can we guarantee that your device will be able to connect.

If internet is necessary for your trip we encourage you to get your own wifi hotspot. Data sims are an easy and cheap option available in Japan, and can be found easily in the right places.
